Why are 316 Cast Stainless Steel fittings preferable to Zamak (Chrome Plated) fittings?
Zamak tends to corrode. Like aluminium, when the protective coating is damaged corrosion appears around unlike material joints. Most pleasure craft rails are made from 7/8” or 1” Highly Polished Type 316 Stainless. Wall thickness can vary between 0.049” (1.24mm) and 0.083” (2.1mm). 1.7 mm is typical. Tube bore and outside diameter should always be measured before ordering fittings.

All fittings supplied by Picea are guaranteed for life providing they are not misused or installed incorrectly.

What size fasteners are required for installation?
Stainless C/S No 10 Screws, 1/4” & 3/16” (M6 & M5) screws with nylock nuts and washers are recommended.
